How to Activate a Navigator Product

To License a Navigator Product you will first need two things:

-Your Serial Number/Product Code

-Your Company Name as it appears in the registration email that should have been sent to your (contact support@navigatorsoftware.co.nz if you are unsure)


When opening an unregistered Navigator product the registration screen should automaticall appear when the program is first launched:


Then simply input the product key and company name into the coresponding fields and click "Activate Online Now".


How to add additional users to an Act license/database


How do I add additional licenses or remove existing licenses from my Act! database?

To add additional licenses to your database, please follow the steps below:


Note: Your Windows® username will have to be Administrator level, your Act! username will have to be Administrator level, and for Windows Vista® and Windows® 7 operating systems you may need to run the Act! program As Administrator (right click on Act! icon and select 'Run As Administrator').

Important Note: After adding additional licenses using any of the methods described below, you will need to close then reopen Act! in order to refresh the license count.


Sage 50 Pre-Install Check: Is Current User Admin?

Sage 50 Pre-Installation Admin check:

Before you install Sage 50 Accounts you should check that your computer meets the recommended system requirements.

To successfully install Sage 50 Accounts you must log onto your computer as an administrator. If you don't have administrator access, your software may not install correctly.

To check if the current user is a local administrator - Windows 7 and Vista

  1. Open the Start menu > click the user account picture. 

    If the computer is not part of a domain, the user status appears below the user name.


Unable to register data source; report designer problem

After installing Sage and attempting to launch the program for the first time you may encounter this error:

"Sage 50 unable to register data source; report designer problem"

This error causes issues when running reports (sage will crash) and primarily effects 64bit systems.

To resolve this error you will need to install Microsoft .Net framework 3.5.

You can often trigger the installation of the .NET framework by simply opening the Sage 50 report designer and following the installation instructions that appear.


Sage 50 Error 1628 and 1603

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall or (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall)- this is the location where the add remove programs gets populated. If you remove the entry from the registry it would take out the entry. You can delete the key from here as described below and also physically locate and delete the files/folders.
In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall


Updating Multiple Incidents At Once

In Evolution 7, you are now able to update multiple incidents at once.

This is useful for when there are changes like the due date, agent name, incident type etc. that needs to be changed on a few incidents.


1) To do this, go to Contact Management > Enquiries > Incident History.

2) Select the Incidents you wish to update.

NOTE: You will be doing a bulk update so you will need to be entering the same details for all incidents.


3) Right-click on the highlighted incidents and select "Update Selected Incidents"

4) Fill out the appropriate details for the incident update and select "Post Incident" or "Close Incident".

5) This will update all selected incidents.
