When opening a company you may occasionally recieve the following error message:
BACKUP IN PROGRESS. You may not open the company until the backup is finished. Please try again later.
To resolve this search in the company data folder for a file called
Backup.txt and delete it.
You should now be able to open the company.

Pastel Run Time error 401 when running a year end
If the client has elected to use 13 periods, check to see that there is data in the 13th period.
If not then change the defaults from 13 to 12 and then run the year end again.

This happens if the Sage Data Service doesn't have full access to your data files, or if your data is stored on a path in any of the following locations:

Go to C:\Pastel##\Custom\Language and copy the accfont.eng file and paste it into the company folder.
Rename Accfont.dat to Accfont.old.
Then rename the Accfont.eng to Accfont.dat.

1. Set the Startup Type properties of the relevant SQL Server Agent to Manual and then Start it.

SQL Execution error Table not found
When trying to run a report out the following type of error is received:
CAUSE: There is no SQL server login/user created for connection to your Schema.
RESOLUTION/WORKAROUND: If you are creating a manual connection in Alchemex to connect to a Database where there are generally multiple schemas. You have to create a separate login in SQL server to connect to a single schema. This will then resolve the error: SQL SERVER CONFIGURATION:
